Amati - Czechoslovakian drums Last viewed: 10 seconds ago

NO problem! I had to put some grey speckled sealer (like Rogers) on the inside because i get that Drum in a horrorable state. The inside was painted wit h a bue laquer that woul not really come off. All the wood stayed blue and i did not want to sand it down to much!

I also ahd to change the strainer, because it was lost:-)

I owned an 80's Amati 6 1/2" x 14" chromed steel snare. Quality of construction was excellent. It seemed to lack well defined snare beds, but undoubtedly would have been a fine player with the benefit of an Active Snare Unit or fitted with a DynaSonic Snare Bridge assembly. Very rare here in the States but if I ever find a kit in great condition I'm going to buy it. High praise for Amati! Wish the factory would jump start its now defunct percussion division!

Well noticed Buckie

I think in the factory did not know actualy function of snare bed,and wasn't made at all,or wasn't made properly. So many of us,cut them by ourselves

So your experience about Active Snare Unit or fitted with a DynaSonic Snare Bridge assembly is great , but, I am affraid cost much more then

snare drum itself!

Hi bro,

It's hard to precisely define these time borders for rings.

On monday I'd received a cargo box with some old Amati shells wrapped in my favorite "M-Kristall Schwarz-Silber" --- they about 1964 and snare already has multylayer shell without re-rings.

Cheers,

George.
