70's Slingy NOS Brass Shell/Build

Some info I recently unearthed regarding a similar time period "BRASS" Supra might shed light on these "BRASS" Slingy shells. Apparently Ludwig used a bronze shell, which at the time was cheaper than a solid brass, plated it with nickel and then sprayed a brass colored lacquer on top to create a shell they marketed and sold as a "BRASS" Supra. I wonder how common this was at the time across the industry?

Never play it the same way once.
