This now seems to be the appropriate place to introduce yourself so hi!

Thought I'd join up to see what info i can get on the drums I just bought and get involved in the vintage drum community!

I just picked up this old pearl Kit and love it! In great condition and sounds great. Not really too sure how original it is or how old exactly, but im guessing very early 70's?

Ill post better pictures later! I also have a Rogers powertone snare from who knows when in pretty great condition that i will post photos of also.

Anyway... Hi to all!

I have an older Ludwig double bass pedal, bought used and I liked it but a cam on the right side of the pedal broke and that cam connects to the spring. It seems like a cast aluminum part. Any ideas about how to find non current Ludwig pedal parts?

Well I glad hear that this isn't just me trying to navigate this forum and understanding the way it works. I bought a Rogers "Dave Clark Londoner" red sparkle kit with all the orignal hardware and did not realize what I had until a drummer friend of mine changed his shorts. That was a year ago and since then I have been trying the argous process of drumming thru the frustration.I have played guitar all my life so it is familiar stressed enjoyment. I still have to tear them down clean them up.

Guess there are lots of lost drummers here! Greetings all. I joined to try and find out about a set i own which might or might not be a PEARL, from the 60s.

when i got them i assumed they were nice fakes but now wonder if at least part of the set is legit?

the hardware seems correct and they have the gold Pearl script badges, brad nailed (!!) to the drums but my drums have no wrap finish. Instead they are painted red. I can find no reference to painted sets but do recall that 1960s Japanese stuff was kinda hokey and inexpensive looking. could these have been a low end PEARL set? anyone gotta clue. btw-they sound pretty sweet, and look like mahogeny (sp?), at least the visible inner layer.

i have a photo of the snare so will post that if i can figure out how to! hopefully you can blow this image up to see detail?

thx and rock on!

Same here, Will say Hi to all here. I have been a drummer or percussionist for over 40 years now. I have a Ludwig Octoplus set 1976 18+ set. I got it new back in 76 straight from Ludwig. 5 ply this is. Got the new 5ply when they first came out. Mahogany Cortex and have loved playing them. MAJOR Neil Peart Fan along with dozens of others. Play full time for Christ now while still sticking in a Neil lick now and then. It can be done. I came here to just keep in touch with other Drummin Brothers, but also to let others know and find out where I can see what my set may be worth. I’m looking at upgrading to a Nice Roland set for the rest of my playing years. Don’t want to get rid of this set but need to sell because not playing much anymore. Looking at selling with Cymbals also. Any info needed please let me know and will send a nice detailed flyer I have made on them. Glad to get with all here and look forward to some good music talk.band3
