From vintagemore2000

Dw Accelerator 5000 ad 2000 model. I use extended length Gibraltar hard felt Beaters and a Danmar red hardwood extended length beater.

Gotta go with my DW 5000 as well. Smooth and dependable.

Just a drummer who loves all things about vintage drums! Nothing more, nothing less.

My DW 9000, hands down. I messed with the adjustment on it for over a year! Found my sweet spot. No other pedal has this kind of adjustability.

As far as vintage pedals go, Speed King.

Back in the 80's, I was auditioning for a band and my pedal spring snapped. Needless to say, didn't get that gig. Had a 5000, it was nice, but the 9000 has held up almost 10 years now!

I use a Pearl P900... Like the action of it... for practice on the Elect kit I use my bastardised Slingerland/Speed King.. I also have a couple of 70's Pearl strap drive pedals that are still nice to play around with. Our guitarist also plays drums.. a couple of weeks ago he gave me a Gibraltar Prowler pedal (new in the box)... It has a nice action similar to the Pearl P900... Problem with the Gibraltar is the hoop clamp , too shallow, a poor design.. it will not hang firmly off of my wooden or Tama synthetic hoops, and will not attach to a Yamaha elect pad at all...

Cheers

John

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I have a fleet of DW 5000's of various vintage. I have an old one with a base plate but the early simple hinge (overall lighter build) for the 18. I bent a DW beater into an "S" because I use a riser for that kick and I prefer the beater to be perpendicular to the floor. The riser brings the pedal away a bit but with the bend, it has the feel of being on the hoop if a 22" kick.

On the blue kit (which was originally a double bass kit) I have a newer 5000 with the fancy red hinges and pedal board weights. That is usually in a box.

I also have another 5000 that does not have the base board (just the bent wire rod) that has a new spring a beater on it as a back up pedal.
