Gotta be your 59 Krupa!! I only have a 70's COB Sound King to compare to. While each has it's own great unique sound the Radio King gets a big thumbs up here. I got a email from Emory this evening and he shipped my strainer handle today. Hopefully when this hurricane mess is done with here I'll get that and the wrap to continue. All drums, amps, guitars and basses are moving to higher ground here!! We are on the edge of the coastal beach evacuation area so if it's bad enough we'll have to leave.
Yep your right, the Krupa. Sorry to hear your in the storm path. I hope you get through it without any trouble!
Thank you!

Thanks I hope so too. Those a bit south from us are taking the brunt of the hit so I really hope they are all ok as well. ;)

Glenn - Batten the hatches, bro! Hope all goes well your way. I'm inland, but the center of that thing is tracked to pass over my part of Pennsylvania. (Reading, Berks County.) If I disappear for a bit next week it's because we lost power. I stocked up on basics, water, non-perishable foods, batteries etc. If it gets real bad, we're headed for the basement! The foundation of my house is one-foot thick! Field-stones. We're also at the top of a ridge, so we're on high-ground, no chance of flooding by me. The people in the valley's need to watch out for flooding.
I'll keep a good thought for you and yours, you do the same for me!
John
Just for you Glenn, Are you playing Riding the strom out by REO?
Just kidding, our prayers are with you and the rest of the East coast.

Thanks John hope you and Bev stay safe as well! Sounds like your in good shape. Gasoline is selling out quick and long lines to get it. No water or batterys anywhere as of yesterday.
Man I saw that track is going right over you guys too. Wild ride for sure there the whole east coast is getting whacked by this one. Yep predictions here are a good week or more with no power.
We're about 15' above sea level here so it'll be too close to call if we leave. Beach areas are all out by 2pm today. School busses are taking seniors and those without transporation to the shelters.
Peace~!

Well a few rays of sunshine came this week during the ugly, cold and dark times we just had.
First my clamshell strainer handle came Tuesday from Emory at Drumatix. It's a super nice piece and nickle plated. Big thanks to Emory for making such a fine product~! Fast shipping and great service. Very nice guy to deal with too.
Next my wrap from Drum Foundry came yesterday. So I can wrap the 9x13" asap. I ordered the wrap last Friday night and was surprised it came so soon. Excellent service from those guys too!!
I did make a boo boo when I ordered the wrap though......LOL I ordered a pre cut piece 13" high. Clearly I wasn't thinking straight as I needed 9" height. But that's ok I'll have some leftover 4" x 52" length. Better too long than too short~! Laughing H
So soon as I can I'll be back on the project and get this kit finished.

Well Mother Nature threw us another curveball..... by yesterday morning we had 5-7" of snow. Today temps were close to 60* and it's all melting.
Anyway I took advantage of the mild temps outside and work continues..... I started to knockdown the paint off the 13" today. About 50% done and will finish it up tomorrow or Sunday. I ordered my 3M 30NF contact cement and should be here mid week. I can then wrap the 13" tom and call it finished.
I got the tom mount postioned nicely in relation to the consolette. I like the spot the tom will sit in, very comfortable for me.
I prefit the wrap around the shell and checked for head fitment. This was a duco paint drum so there was some concern but the heads fit nice and go on pretty easy.
After the tom is done I'll finish the homemade strainer for the snare.
Sanding pics..........
