Picked up some Ludwig Drums for $100...what do I have?

Looks nice. You could also use that 14" as a down tom next to your 16". I do that with a couple of my sets that have 13" and 14" toms.

Thanks! I have another kit setup like that...12" rack and a 14" and 16" floor tom.

We have similar taste. Here's my rewrapped Ludwig Rockers with the red sparkle vinyl material. My pics aren't as clear as yours are - and your material looks like a better sparkle too. But mine has worked great, and I've probably done 50 gigs with these with no issues.

Nice looking kit!

It isn't too thin but it is very flexible and pretty durable. The main difference is that there isn't a protective/plastic coating over the sparkles.

Where are the badges?

I personally would never re-wrap a vintage Ludwig kit unless it was totally shot, I prefer leaving a kit as original as possible. I don't mind the minor scratches and separation.

That being said, it came out nice and your video was very cool.Walking

That clip mount is Ludwig-usually used with timbales or concert toms. I would assemble the missing parts and play the set as-is until a bass drum shows up. And red sparkle drums do show up as orphans, often as marching drums. Might find a 20" or 24"!

The clip mount hole pattern should match the Ludwig 60s - 80's classic mount. So, no foul there.

I have the badges, just haven't got them back on. I agree that it is best to leave a vintage kit alone if not in horrible shape. If it would have come with the matching kick drum, I would have left them. The three toms did have some pretty bad separation. I wavered on what to do, but I am happy with my decision...they look and sound great!
