This is insane. Keep the kit! I can't believe you would ever even consider parting with that beauty. It's so nice. Heck, I would tuck that baby away and play a different kit most days. I'd pull this unbelievable kit out every couple of months and just play the snot out of it. Oh man.......I think I just wet myself.
Ludwigs 1969-70 4500$$ Or Best Offer
I am just about to go and buy some new heads and do just that brother I think you are 100% right and if the economy is this bad that no one can pay what it is truly worth I may as well play the snot out of it. after all you only live once!!!
As I said in a previous reply on this thread......the way the economy is, you will never see that kind of money for those drums. You're better off keeping them and using them on special occasions. The way it looks right now, the insane prices for vintage equipment is going away and the market is coming back to the working drummers pay, not the rich collector (never even learned how to play) pay.
You want to invest in something that will retain its value and something you might even make money on? Invest in gold. Investing in anything in any collector market or stocks or bonds and the like is just like flushing your money down the toilet now. Toilet DOH
My estimate was between $2500-$3000 -in consideration of today's market. Anything less than that and I wouldn't sell them. Heck, I wouldn't sell them in ANY case! I'd be keeping those and playing them everyday. But, that's me and my 2 cents.
$4500 was wishful thinking but...ya never know until you try! You're current price is realistic, in my opinion.
