I'd love to see what OTHERS have in the Old and Unusual drum category.
Here's one I picked up this year.
It's a heavy galvanized pail turned into a snare drum of some sort. The history I got with the drum is that it was used by a clown in a travelling circus on the East Coast of the USA in the 1940's. It's 12" diameter and 10 1/2" deep.
The last photo shows the trap-door hole in the bottom - the 4th photo shows the snare setup inside. The thumb screw on the outside bottom is the strainer and release for the gut snares inside the drum. I taped the two photos on the drum......for effect ;) The old stick, bass drum beater and worn wire brush came with the drum and is said to have been used by the clown that owned the drum in the 40's. I haven't checked anywhere on the age of the stick, brush or beater.
I get lots of comments on it. It seems to scare kids and teens tell me it's creepy especially with the photos attached haha - just the way I like it.
