I think DW has done a fine job of bringing quality control back to American drum products. I think they have been very creative with shell formulations and hardware innovation. Their product range supports jazzers and rockers.

Bingo. For about 20 years now, if you wanted a new set of quality American-made drums, with big-company support, there has been only one choice. And by and large, they are very well made. Marketing? Nah. Delivering quality product.

CHRIST LETS BEAT A DEAD HORSE????????? LAST TIME FOR ME on this DW HAS AN ENTIRE LINE OF DRUMS,PEDALS,HARDWARE, FROM LOW COST TO HIGH END, THEY HAVE LIGHTWEIGHT TO HEAVY DUTY HARDWARE, HEY JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHER MANFACTURES.. HONESTLY NOT ANY OF YOU HAVE A KIT. SO IT'S ALL HOT AIR, Oh i played one hey good for you, i could say that about every brand that exist, i have heard bad sounding drums from every brand that exist, ok i'm done!!!! time for a beer???

Once again, I have seen so much broken and busted DW hardware of all weights and strengths it isn't funny. Its not the greatest hardware in the world, sorry.

ONCE AGAIN Lets beat a dead horse, I've seen so much broken. ludwig, slingerland gretsch, do you get my meaning so what point do you have, hey ludwig hardware was so great why did everyone put rogers hardware on there bass drum mounts????? gretsch hardware has always been know to be a joke until gibraltar finally showed them how to make real hardware, So where are back to the dead horse, side not, I've owned the dw kit for 10 years, some of the hardware for 12 years not one single broken anything!!!!

I'm not beating a dead horse as you say, I'm just telling it like it is. DW hardware is about as bad as Gibraltar hardware....cheap made in china crap, just like the modern Ludwig hardware that I would NEVER suggest anybody buy. I've owned all three, and it does NOT hold up on the road. The tubes are thinwall and dent easily, the screws strip out easily.....just like some of the vintage stuff does. The only hardware that is really made well these days is Yamaha's hardware like another forum member stated.

So do us all a favor and stop sounding like one of the 15 DW ads plastered across modern drummer magazine these days. And on that subject, there has been so many ads and such little substance in the magazine lately, that I am letting my longtime subscription run out this year and do not plan on renewing it. And I've subscribed since the magazine came out!

Let me remind everyone that the title of this thread is: I am tired of seeing DW drums.......

Seems its a 50/50 split if you ask me. And yes I am in agreement with the person who started the thread. I too am also tired of seeing DW drums.....especially in print every 3rd page of a magazine that I USED to love.....

But....but......but......the DW stamp says the company started in 1972 (although just building canister thrones at that point...). That's vintage, right?

...speaking of beating a dead horse, let's start ANOTHER thread titled, "How old does a drum have to be to be considered vintage?" I haven't seen one of those in a couple weeks! Laughing H
