From DionneDrummer

The inlay is sweet and the wood grain on that drum is amazing! Cool1Thanks for sharing!!

I think the shell is Elm or Oak. There isn't enough red in it to be mahagony and it is too dark and has too much grain to be maple.

Very nice and that Simmons shell is a beauty. Interesting it was made in New Haven. Cool stuff thanks for sharing!

Not a drum but this is my first Speedfire head going out. For anyone interested the heads are selling for $135.00 + shipping and an additional $10.00 if you want the Trixon logo on the head like this one. The heads are hand tucked calfskin and I can do front or back heads.

Okay, I haven't posted much on the green drum in a while because I was trying a few things out that for better (and sometimes worse) had to go the route of trial and error. Funny how there doesn't seem to be an instruction manual on line anywhere that tells you exactly how to best insert a bottle holder into a bass drum. The bottle insert is in and the bottle opener has been attached along with the harness hooks and the additional lettering on the back of the drum. Here are some pictures of the where I am currently at with it.

Knot work and a bottle opener.

Side view of the drum with the bottle insert. The bottles are bottom heavy enough and the insert sits low enough that it doesn't mess with the center of gravity on the drum much.

I started a matching 16" x 16" snare that I'm working on quickly and hope to have it done for the Nashville show next week. I will be selling them as a set.
