That came out really nice. If Mad Max played the drums this is what he'd have. would even fit in the back of his Interceptor. ;)
That is really a cool drum and nice craftsmanship. Very creative.
Always one for logistics, the nice thing about this drum is you don't need a case. Instead you just put a large plank of styrofoam in the back of the van and stick this thing to it.
Funny Post
LoLoLoLo
How badass!
I like your project.
Okay, short break there but here are some more pictures.
These are the rims for the green bass drum, I am partialy done painting the knot work onto them.

Here is a shot of the shell after cleaning it, stripping what was left of the old clear coat that was on it and applying 4 coats of a clear eurothane

One more drum that I am restoring for a customer. This is a drum made by Frank H. Simmons from right here in New Haven CT and I am estimating the age of the drum to be from the late 1900's

Really great work. That Simmons drum is really special. Should we assume you meant late 1800's or is this a recent build?

Yes, I meant late 1800's. Oops. I want to try and get a better picture of the inside of the shell, the handwritting is beautiful. The inlaid star is also oovery nice.
The inlay is sweet and the wood grain on that drum is amazing! Cool1
Thanks for sharing!!
