Wow..too cool..great job!..To me..Bowtie rod Beavertail Rogers are the TRUE Rogers drums......Very 1st thing I look at....if a Rogers kit is FS........No bowties?......not interested!I know some people fawn all over Big R's..but to me..they are Near Beer!"Unless they are Flat Grey..I say "No way"..is my motto....

That will be my philosophy too if ever I'm looking at buying a Rogers kit.

John what a fantastic restore! One of the coolest kits ever on here...

Man, do I have the BEST son on the planet, or what?

Thanks for picking that up. It will be really wild to have both 14 FT sizes on the kit. Almost a dual of a Buddy Rich Rogers kit? Now if only I could play 1/10th as good as BR!!

Yes, so glad I put the time in on this original wrap.

Pops,Add this one to the mix.14x16 Cleveland Holiday FT in BDP. Not sure about 3 or 5 ply, leaning 5, but who knows. nice low serialHigh school kid got it with a set of TAMA ROCKSTARS.... (What the $#%?)"Doesn't match the rest of the kick so I don't want it."Was fortunate enough to contact him first and have him hold it for me, as I found that 15 other people had called him about it in the two days it took me to pick it up. It can meet the rest of its brothers in a couple weeks when I get down in your neck of the woods. Peace easy

So I was able to update my 12x20 kick hoops yesterday. From my donor bass (a 14x20 Mercury Cleveland Blue Onyx Pearl), I removed the inlay and re-applied the original BDP inlay from my one original broken hoop. That is now sitting as the reso hoop. I also bought a snare-sized section of old Delmar BDP and cut a 1/2" strip for the batter side hoop. I'm keeping the paint on the hoops as is, as I don't really want this set to look like in show-room condition.

You can also see my new 14x16 ft in the back. I'll start a separate thread for it as I can get around to cleaning it. Really nice 3 ply. Bottom hoop is wrong, and the R on the badge is a little bent. Here's a picture I took prior to fixing the hoops.

I've added a swivo hihat, snare stand, and cymbal stand to round out the Rogers hardware. Yes, still sitting on Slingerland.

If anyone needs a BOP Mercury or Tower kick, let me know - the wrap and shell condition on my donor is PRISTINE! Plus I have enough inlay for one hoop.

Wow ! I can't believe those are the same drums ..Awesome find and job on the restoration .. You just gave those drums a well deserved facelift ! They're gonna clean up nicely too. Cool1 Now i know what will remove yellowing from years of smoke on a drum wrap ;) Wet sanding and 400 grit :D
