I don’t know if you all remember a few years back when I acquired that white slingy kit from the was Grateful Dead’s drummer from that guy who bought the stolen goods on the street, I found out after fact and enough investigation led to the realization they were stolen goods. I have and will never ever agree with buying hot goods as I have had drums ripped off a Harley ripped off actually 2

Numerous others items from cash to you name it my kinda luck , g

So you know the outcome I took them back to the guy and we tried to convince him to return them I think they did get back to drummer do to some one here who new him anyways

I do not condone any thing stolen but in the case of my first wife , good riddance !

lol

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

So I’m just gonna skip over those posts, because I got a couple things to ask/mention1. Does anyone happen to know where I can get some floor Tom legs that’ll fit the old WFL brackets? I’m fine with new or old, I’m not picky2. Using the original spade mounts is out of the question sadly, so the pressing question there; should I try and do modern suspension mounts, or use the tops of snare stands? I’m using a Pearl Icon rack to mount all the cymbals and most of the drums on.3. Not sure if this drum classified as vintage or not, but has anyone else ever heard of or seen a Pearl CL6514? It’s one of the other snares I have, and I’m curious how many people out there have it.

1. I think they'll be 3/8-inch/9.5mm, Ludwig's standard size for many years. Gibraltar and WorldMax make cheap legs in that size. Ludwig does too, but they'd be more expensive.

2. You could go with the Ludwig Atlas system if you want to keep it all Ludwig. INDe makes a very low-profile mount system that's nice. It would probably fit two of the holes left from the diamond plate, but you'd have two exposed holes (https://www.indedrum.com/drum-upgrades-accessories/inde-suspension-mounting-bracket). I say do NOT use rim mounts. They look completely unnatural on vintage drums. If you're only going to use a single rack tom a snare stand is fine.

3. That number doesn't sound like a particular snare. 6514 just sounds like the dimensions: 6.5x14. Do you not have any other info on it? A picture would probably help.

1. I’ve tried the 9.5 Gibraltar’s, but they didn’t fit. So I’ll most likely have to go vintage then

2. I’ve been looking at the INDe XL mount for a bit

3. It was a special Taiwanese exclusive made a year after Pearl’s 50th, and it’s essentially the same shell (maple steam-bent) and hardware, but not gold-plated and all the 50th anniversary stuff. It’s labeled as a “sensitone limited edition” but it’s much more than that. When it released, it was for $700, I picked it up in Steve Maxwell’s in NYC for $350

Cool. Pearl made a couple one-ply shells. Here's another. I know nothing more about them, though.
