Interesting about the cowbell mount on the floor tom. I havn't really seen that before. As for missing parts, all the bottom lugs are missing from the floor tom and that one leg mount for the cow bell as well as legs. The bass drum is missing all the T-rods and claws as well as legs are missing. Some of the lugs will need to be replaced as well because the inside is damaged. I'm also missing the tom mount.

Ok, Yes i do have the lugs/t-rods for the floor tom also the mount that is missing..Also the lugs for bass drum and T-rods and claws...Check with Jonnistix to see if you wants to sell the tom mount,If not have have that too..As far as the bass drum i also have them too...Mikey

The bass is a 9 ply shell, the floor tom is 6 ply. Are the edges flat or cut? It almost looks like a floor tom I have with no edges factory cut. If not, then you should have a cabinat maker cut them to your desired contour, keeping in mind you don't want to remove too much. Alternatively, you can cut them by hand with sandpaper, but it is a job, and is not to be taken lightly as this is not a simple fix. It must be done carefully and evenly to ensure a good, flat edge all the way around. I don't mean flat like a table, but not a lot of dips and highs.

Its really hard to tell, but I think they were originally cut. About 40% of the bearing edge looks pretty bad on the floor tom. The wood is damaged and pieces can be taken off. I know a guy here in Austin who does pretty good work with edges. I'll probably give him a call sometime this week and see if there's something we can do about them. I need to have him touch up my 8 year old pearl as well.

Thanks again for all your help so far. It has really put me on the right path to getting this project started and knowing what I'm working with.

Follow the link in my signature to my youtube page. Please don't listen to my playing, unless you need a good laugh. I am not a drummer, I am a tech and I just absolutely love what I do. I only wish I could afford American gear, but then again, who would be the champion sans fear for the MIJ lot?

There are a few How-To videos there as well...

It could be where the muffer went. I didn't see it on any of the the pictures.

The spacing of the holes is too far apart for a typical muffler off this drum. They would be no more than 1/4" apart and not that big. One would be about an 1/8", the other slightly smaller for the typical muffler from Star stencils.

Jon,

You are probably right, I was looking at my R369 and it shows the grommit/badge hole in line with the muffler hole on both toms with the floor Tom being almost 3 inches from the muffler hole. That does look different that the set of holes on his Tom.

oh yeah, the mounting on the muffler looks different than the set of holes on my tom. In the next few days I should be taking them to have slight wood repair done and bearing edges fixed. I'm also waiting to hear back from someone locally about some hardware pieces I may be lacking.

The hunt for a rack tom continues. haha.

Hi again, the shells are almost done getting repaired so I'm on the hunt for some of the parts I am lacking:

Bass Drum:

Legs

Claws + T-rods(8)

Also needed but aren't necessities for me just yet:

Cymbal Arm

Tom Mount

Floor Tom:

Legs

Lugs and tension rods (6)

Rim (6 hole)

If any of you are willing to part with any of these items I'd be willing to buy them. I'll post this in the wanted section as well sometime later.

Thanks.
