here is a zoom on the lugs..they sure look like Rogers to me.

while we are at it , can anyone figure out the snare drum also. First time I saw him with a chrome snare.

thanks. if they are Rogers, that is another first in regard to Shelly. I have seen him using different stuff in Europe most likely borrowed (Hayman, Slingerlan, Premier d and Meazzi Hollywood), but never in the states. He started out with Gretsch and then went to Leedy then the last endorsement was Pearl although he has was photographed in the studio in the late 70s with a Sonor (looked a bit like kordia wood). It seems like the PTS heads show he was also in contact with Remo like Louise Bellson said.

If thats a Rogers do you think its an early 80s one?

sorry, one more question. i am terrible at telling drum sizes from pictures.. Would you say Shelly has a 20" Bass Drum or 18". Also is that snare 4.5 or 5.5? Sorry if this seems like a stupid question.

Assuming the Gretsch is a 20 it looks like the Rogers is a 22.

I can't venture a guess on the snare size.
