Help, what drum set is this?

Hi. I was looking at this picture and wondered what drum set Shelly Manne was playing. I noticed the Remo PTS bass drum head, but it didn't look like a Remo set from that time. He used Pearl's in the 70s and Leedy in the 50s and 60s, but this one is a mystery to me. I know Shelly and Louie bellson were some of the prototype guys for remo it may be a prototype pts kit???? very cool pic, thanks

Louie told this story to us at a Namm show about remo giving select drummers the pts to try, and louie recommended shelly to remo they sent him a kit and by your picture used them but I am Honestly not sure?

thanks for that info about Louie Bellson, his old Remos always sounded good, the new ones do too. it seems like Shelly had quite a few sets at the time.

I think Shelly passed away only two days after these pictures.
