Help, what drum set is this?

I'd bet that the snare isn't a dyna and those drums aren't Rogers.

The snare looks like an import / '70s style Pearl.

The lugs look similar to Rogers, but are probably earlier PTS.

I generally have complete disdain for "pile on comments", but in this case I have to... The snare drum that Shelly is playing is most certainly NOT a Rogers Dynasonic. Rich K. is in tight on this one. The snare is a lower end COS import, and the lugs are whatever Remo was using for their PTS line of drums. Still... really NEAT pics!

ok, now i am totally confused. the pearl snare makes sense. Why do you think its not a dynasonic?

octopoli!...

Even with the blurred enlargement it's quite easy to see that the lines running arouind the outside of the shell are WAY TOO THICK/DEEP to be a Rogers COB Dynasonic. I guess the fact that I own two COB and two wood Dynasonics help in this case! Also... the throw/strainer is "clearly" not Rogers either... clearly in quotes as a joke because the picture is blurred! LOL! But it's easy to see that it is not a Dynasonic.

its funny, that set up Shelly had if its a Pear and Remo would be VERY cheap to purchase now second hand and Billy Higgins set would be pretty expensive I would think. I bet they both sounded good.

I love Shelly Manne... always have! Agreed!... there's no doubt that both of them sounded fantastic! Wouldn't matter what brand they were playing either as it all comes from within! Cool pics!

Those lugs on the bass look Pearl-ish to me. I am no expert, but from these pix, and the fact I have a few of those lugs, that is what they look like to me. The snare could be a Jupiter, because it does appear to be a parallel strainer.
