Ha ha This guy puts a ad on Cl for some clear acrylic drums and other stuff for $250. I emailed him and he never returned my mail. A guy I know goes over to Littfield tx about 30 miles from here and buys all of it. here's what he got

double bass, 3 tom clear Zicko kit, the black panthers, two supraphonic snares, a old white marine pearl slingy snare, a even older WFL snare, a very old WFL bass and 20" floor tom, a 1964 luddy white marine pearl painted black, a bunch of cymbals, 2 gas tama bd pedals, a old luddy bd pedal, a old monster premier h hat stand, all for $250. I bought 3 cymbals for 20 ea and the hi hat stand for 25, just because it look so wicked and the panthers. I gave 400 for the panthers. After I read your article about them I decided I wanted them. Im sure I paid too much, but I just couldnt resist. He sold the snares on eflay for 400 i paid him 485. he still has the zickos and WFL's aand a few cymbals. He has no interest in the drums. He's just in it for the money. If I had scored all that it probably would have drove me crazy trying to decide what to do with all of it.

What are the interior of these shell finished in? Im guessing clear laquer.

I am thinking about lightly scuffing up the clear laquer and applying a thin coat. Is it imperative that I use lacquer or will polyurethane be ok?

Cleaning the wrap,

This isnt going to be like anything i have ever restored. Im fixin to see what i have that will clean this textured wrap. This Black Panther wrap closely resembles vinyl in texture. At the shop I usually use sprayaway glass cleaner and a good still bristle scrub brush. When I clean the hoses and belts on my corvette, I use scrubbing bubbles. Spray it on, let it sit a while and rinse it off.

I'm gonna try a little of everything and see which works best. I am also tempted to clean em real good and spray them with vinyl die. We dye or paint plastic and vinyl often at the shop.

Ya think so huh? Thanks man. This dont have anything to do with drums, but it does demonstrate craftsmanship. I bought esmerelda when she was just a few months old, back in 2000. We customized the interior about 3-4 yrs ago.
