I find it interesting that the grain on the kick and snare runs vertically,the toms look horizontal to me.I wonder if some of the shells are single ply,I guess we will see soon.

It's killin me now I really want to know. I believe they are 5-6 ply with alternating stave and doubled top and bottom bearing surface. So it is not truly a glued and stave assembly. Basically a skeleton frame to apply the plys. Forgive me I am still traveling till 23rd.

Thanks for the patience, I finally got home and photo the interiors. Some of the drums are ply construction with reinforced rims and partial staves for doublers mainly at the lugs. Definately not pretty inside.
