Just my guess, looks like it might be stripped under the wrap due to the area around the BB knob and picture with slight hole/scrape in wrap.
which if it is stripped you can wrap in whatever you choose.

The drum just arrived! I immediately stopped working on a laptop repair and began tearing apart the drum! Member "Wayne" hit the nail on the head that there is no wrap on the drum. However, you can still see the small piece of Green Sparkle wrap that would not come off, due to how it laps into the shell.
I believe this to be a mid-60's or earlier, due to the fact that the shell measures 5-3/8" in depth all around. Probably meant to be a 5.5", but we all know that Ludwig never seemed to cut their shells to the exact depth anyway!
The outer mahogany ply has some missing areas, but really not bad at all. I peeled back the upholstery to get a look at the bearing edge, but it's really tough to tell if the inner ply is maple or mahogany. I'm guessing that these early 60's shells were mahogany/poplar/mahogany?
The only extra holes are from the MIJ snare strainer. No extra holes from the MIJ butt. I already purchased a repro Keystone badge and 3-ply brass grommet from Bumwrap. I'll use my spare WFL P-83 and newer P-32. Now, I just need to decide on a wrap!
While I was just a bit disappointed that there was no cool wrap underneath, I'm still very happy with the drum and looking forward to restoring it!

Wait,..... The green wrap laps into the scarf joint ? Same one that is stapled over the edges?

Hi OddBall! It's the original green sparkle that is lapped into the scarf joint, with just that small piece that is still attached to the shell. The green sparkle that is stapled to the shell is automotive upholstery! It's actually really thick material, making tough to put heads on!

Slingerfan! I had thought about green sparkle, but since this will be for display only, I'm thinking about using Oyster Blue from Bumwrap. For a digital print, it actually looks pretty good! Even esteemed member K.O. likes it!! I'm going to order a sample of the "more blue" version.
