Slingerfan! I had thought about green sparkle, but since this will be for display only, I'm thinking about using Oyster Blue from Bumwrap. For a digital print, it actually looks pretty good! Even esteemed member K.O. likes it!! I'm going to order a sample of the "more blue" version.-Mark
Perfect and then you can sell it to me. I need it to complete this Walking
Hi Mark,
You can use bondo on the missing Mahogany it works well , I used it on one of the rivet kits that I restored, then cover or paint to your liking.
I ordered some Sky Blue from Precision and love the wrap, FYI (picture below)
Also should be able to tell by how smooth the inside is, if really smooth most likely Maple , if shows some graininess most likely Mahog. I worked on one that had major overspray from previous owner but could tell by roughness that it was Mahog where they taped it off. (another pic FYI)
Did you check for any date stamp?
Either way enjoy.
Wayne
Sorry just noticed it was Oyster Blue you were looking for. Bumwrap is cool too. Did a Supra in a wrap that I gave them a picture of the eclipse of the sun with the shadow off earth from NASA.( actually did a whole kit in the wrap.)
Update!
I'm taking the shell to my friend, Chris Heuer, next week. I also let Chris know that I'm moving by the end of March. He said he can plug the holes from the MIJ strainer and fill in the missing wood areas on the outside of the shell before I move. I'll have a great project after I move!
