This is the Display Your MIJ Drums Thread

I guess I meant that the somewhat rare wrap would make it tough to sell individually. I mean a red sparkle would easily sell separately because there are so many out there and guys need them, but that wrap is pretty unique.

I like your way of displaying your kits, without the floor tom's. Nice and tight, it must look pretty cool. It's funny you mention the missing floor tom's, because soon I will be looking to add another one to my kit, preferably a 16" red sparkle, but I am willing to rewrap if needed. It would make a nice project. I guess that's one reason you don't have to many floor tom's! So I might be calling on you for one soon!:D

Hello Jimmy

yes the bass/tom partials on the top shelf do display pretty well minus of the floor toms

once a floor tom is finally located for one of them, I move that kit down to a much wider shelf

for example the Majestic gold agate partial near center

has since been made whole

with an Astro badged 16" floor tom in the matching finish,

no offset lugs on it but close enough for me

This was a recent score I picked up to restore and sell to a friend who was seeking a set without dropping a lot of coin. Scored a Ludwig 1121 Flat Base HH stand to keep, and cleaned these up. Heit snare Tom and BD, Tor-O-Dor floor tom. 12-16-20 in blue sparkle. They sounded good and the new owner loved them! Now they’ll last another 40 years!

To keep with the MIJ motif, I paired up a nice Tama Iron Cobra pedal, Pearl HH and snare stand, Camber hi hats and an Italian cymbal. All for $200!

Drum Kits
1965 Ludwig Clubdate Oyster Blue
1966 Ludwig Clubdate Oyster Black
1969 Ludwig BB Blue Oyster Keystone Clubdate
1971 Ludwig BB Black Oyster
Early 60's Camco Oaklawns Champagne Sparkle

Nice! That’s a Neil Peart kit (nearly) 6-8-10-12 concert toms; 12-13-15 rack toms, 16-18 floor toms. He used a 20” gong bass drum but close enough!
