Music 4 Mutts raffle kit Last viewed: 2 hours ago

Thank you everyone for your nice comments!

Wish I could post another picture but Im at a dead end with the tension rod problem. Problem is we have two maybe three different size threads on the rods Im using. I dont want to mix them up, they should all be the same on the kit so when you change heads it wont matter which rod you use. I did not think of this problem ahead of the project. So now I need to purchase new swivel nuts (inserts) and rods that all match, problem is I dont know which ones to get and whether or not all of my lugs are the same. Some of the swivel nuts have a hexagon shape at the base and some are square, and they dont seem to all work together. So now I am considering on purchasing all new lugs, (the Slingerland reproduction ones) and new rods to solve the problem, another 108.00. And now I can see wanting new hoops next, geez what did I get myself into LOL!

PS, the base drum is fine, all tension rods work with the lugs perfectly!

Thank you!

Well, since work is slow I dont have cash for drums at the moment. So I took all the lugs off and figured out which rods went with each lug. I ended up short by seven matched lugs/rods so the 13 has one size and the 16 has the other. I figured heads are usually replaced one at a time so mixing up the rods should not be an issue.

Sorry for the poor quality picture, my digital camera took a dump on me so I am forced to use my phone to take pictures. But, here they are with all the hardware that I have bolted on them. I hope I can get my music store to donate or discount some new heads for the kit, I need to pay them a visit. Next, I can work on some inlays for the bass drum hoops but until I get the rest of the parts and heads Im at a dead end. I am looking at having some badges made for the kit, they would have the Music 4 Mutts logo but I dont want the grommet to interfere.

Jeff, are you talking rod length or thread count ?

How about a tack on strip badge ?

Jeff,

If you do get some badges made, any chance of getting an extra one made for my badge collection? I will pay for it of course...

Cheers

Rod, I sure will send you one. I have a couple others you can have if you want them, I can send those regardless if I get ones made or not.

Thank you!

One is an Apollo, oval shape that says Worlds Supreme Quality Made in Japan, black with gold print.

The other is a Pearl Professional DX Series rectangular badge, silver with black print.

Those and the M4M badge will be free for you, no exceptions. I called a trophy shop and talked about making a badge. I also sent a jpeg of the logo and she said no problem, estimated about 5.00 each.

Thank you!

Hi Jeff!

Looking back through all the posts, your toms are 13" and 16", correct? Is the bass drum a 20" or 22"? I'm also assuming that the snare is a standard 14".
