It's actually red glass glitter! Judging by the muffler knobs, they are Rogers clone mufflers, which Pearl used in 1968.

Ha! I just joined the forum 5 minutes ago and here I find a thread about the actual drum set I just bought Thursday night after work! So yeah - someone else was supposed to buy these but they flaked, I ended up with them instead. For $175, did I end up making out or what? The guy was super cool and gave me a throne and three new sets of sticks since we ended up talking about digging the same kinds of music.

Pretty cool purchase! Those old MIJs often sound great.

They appear to be either the President or Super Deluxe model from '68, according to the old catalogs at Pearl's site. Is there a way I can check to know for sure?

The pic has now gone from craigslist... So if you post a pic or two here, you may get some more input.

Cheers

Here's one pic from the original listing. If I get a chance tomorrow, I'll post some of my own pics.

From that pic they look generally of higher quality, very clean, and complete. Wood BD hoops is a nice touch too. $175 no problem.
