Thanks! Finally added hardware and cymbals yesterday, banged on 'em for a little bit before heading off to bed. Did I mention this is my first set?

Ok, I need help. A bolt/screw on the tom tom holder just snapped while I was adjusting the drum! Damn. Any tips on whether modern hardware will fit the holder or do I need to track down the part?

It might be metric but if you get the new bolt with a nut obviously you can go with imperial, any carriage bolt that fits the hole. A carriage bolt has a square locking collar right under the rounded top. And yes you can mount two toms on the rail, especially these MIJ toms which are much lighter than Ludwig etc.

Thanks. It does indeed have the square below the head.

I was able to find suitable parts for the tom-tom holder, it's working now. I'll definitely be careful, and keep an eye out for real Pearl-type parts in the future. I am thinking about getting another vintage tom-tom to go with it. If my current one is 13", should I go smaller or larger? My floor tom is 16", btw.

Most guys look for something of a different size to drive a tonal change. However, one of my favorite former drummers is Bobby Colomby. He tended to match upper toms as either twin 12's or twin 13's. I've thought of setting up a 20, 12, 12, 14 recently to see how it works out, but just haven't gotten there yet.
