Buddy Rich's Daughter Cathy - DRAMA on Facebook

Glenn here it is.. This is from Cathy Rich Update: Donn Bennett now says the cymbals have been sold. What a coincidence! Let me also state that he doesn't own the store anymore.., he apparently does these things privately... so we have no issue with the store or its current owner! Thank you for your kind thoughts and support! I will update as we go through the process!

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

I would hope for $30k the seller would have documentation showing the ownership trail. I doubt these cymbals are worth even $10k though.

If they didn't have documentation they do now. Cathy has inadvertently given providence to these Cymbals, and have made them famous again amongst us. She's just literally helped the guy market them! LOL

No PROOF as to whether they REALLY WERE sold Mark... yet. As such, this is still very hazy/murky. Gotta wait 'till something tangible in the way of proof surfaces... meaning the SALE of them of course. The cymbals ARE the real deal! By the way, Buddy had more than a few sets of cymbals. These are not a "one of" ... but they most certainly were his!

Absolutely, sort of like the internet phenomenon known as the 'Streisand effect' where you seek to bury an internet story but only succeed in raising its profile well beyond its organic growth limits. So much for Harvard smarts, now she'll have additional parties to pursue in court.

I bought a bunch of thin 18" A.Zils for $75 each once...imagine my surprise when I saw one clearly stamped "B R" into the metal...right below the Avedis Zil stamp....

Traded it for a 20,12,14 Rogers kit (Cleve)...and snare....

A guy around the same time had a 16" A.Zil with "G K" stamped into his...he got $2,600 for it I recall!

BTW..the pro player who got it from me put up a bunch of 18" A.Zils..and had some pro player friends of his listen...they said the B R one sounded the best!

Sure the owner wasn't a Bill Robertson? Anyway you made a killing by getting the Rogers kit in exchange ;)
