To celebrate our nation’s independence, and honor all the men and women that serve our country, I wrapped my 1994 Slingerland HSS kit in a US Flag design from Bum Wrap Drum Company. I call it the "Spirit of America" kit. Came out great!

My HSS has been sitting for a few years with no wrap. The biggest issue was that the shells are not undersized and the “average” wrap was too thick, causing heads not to fit. I was pretty much resigned to using a Satin Flame and then discovered that these Bum Wrap coverings might be thin enough to work. At 21 mil, the wrap was the thickest that allowed heads to fit! So, I figured why not do something special. The “George” flag wrap really looks nice and I’m happy with the quality, too!
The bass drum head was obtained from Vintagelogos.com. Really nice!
All the original HSS hardware is in great condition and everything was polished…even those funky “Mickey Mouse Ear” wingnuts! Rather than use the original Sticksaver hoops, I had a nice set of Pearl FAT TONE hoops for the toms and snare drum. They look great on the drums!
I’ll be playing the kit for a 4th of July celebration at my girlfriend’s mom’s house in Pasadena. Will be fun!

That is absolutely GREAT...I love it!
Nice job Mark! I always appreciate your attention to detail, and in this case, across the entire spectrum... which includes the grass! Me being of the Polish persuasion, well... I gots to have nice grass!, and certainly feel a bond with others that do too!
