My guess is he ran for the hills when all the name calling started - LOL!!!
By the way, I heard that Bonham had 2 unoriginal, non-Ludwig tension rods on his snare. One was missing a washer - That's what gave it that incredible sound.

haha you may call me Kid but I assure you I can sweep you off the floor at drums. You're telling me that this picture of a 12x15 tom is the same size as Bonham's. Discussion is not over
Yes I'm telling you it is the same size. And how do you know how well I play or not? FYI, I've studied with the best, and have been playing since I was 8....I'm 39 now...do the math.....I was playing before you were even an inkling in your parent's eyes......

Ya....thats it....it had nothing to do with the ENGINEER who got Bonham his "great" sound.....:p
how old do you think I am? Stalk much?
Enough already!!!
I checked out your profile with your link to your band's page once a while back. You're probably no older than 24 by the looks of it. Kid, I've forgotten more about the great rock drummers of the 60's and 70's than you even know. Same about Ludwig drums....I've been playing those since age 8 as well.....we could do this all day, but what's the point really? The drum is a 12x15, its been documented by an accurate source, so live with it. Just because you read one article in Traps magazine about Bonham doesn't make you an expert you know.....and yes I read that article too and the drum sizes they list on the first kit are wrong, it was a misprint. They even corrected it a few issues later......
one fact missing it had rogers swivo hardware so it was a special order of some type... i am 59 by the way been at it a bit ... carry on..

Traps magazine what the hell? I never even read it. Haha you have no idea what I know about drummers and drums. sorry old man

Actually Bonham had the swivomatic hardware fitted later on after he took delivery of the original double bass configuration of the kit. The tom was originally on a snare stand, then the swivomatic mount, and sometimes both!
I've been playing for 44 years. Do I qualify?
I still say it was only a djembe and a banana shaker used on that first album. That guy was an amazing percussionist. You try to play Communication Breakdown and get those tones out of a plastic fruit shaker. Genius. Pure genius.
