This is my last two cents on this issue. You can try to guesstimate with logos, pictures, etc. Someone earlier in this thread brought up Todd Trent. For those of you who don't know who he is, he worked for Ludwig for 25 years, and had many friends in the music business, as well as having a snare actually used by John Bonham along with other Ludwig endorsers in his possession. If Todd says it, I believe it, he is a stand up guy and as far as Ludwig knowledge, he got it all firsthand.....

I do now think it was a 12x14, as weird as that is. I tend to agree with ludwig-dude's line of logic about 12x15's and 10x14's, but based on the photographic evidence it's hard to dispute that the tom in question is in fact a custom built 12x14 with 10 lugs. I knew that both Todd Trent and Paul Thompson had stated that the drum was a 12x14, but I wanted to be sure.

What really convinced me was my error in measuring the size of the logo, which was an inch smaller during a short time in '68 through '69.

Why? Why are you persisting? This is an educational thread. Why are you continuing to take a personal vindictive acidic path. Venom is not needed. Understanding is welcome. I got no beef with you or anyone else on this forum, but this is quite enough of this. I am open to passionate discussions and such. I really am. But when they get personal, then it's no fun anymore. Sorry it took so long to get back. Send email for pics. I was told Bonham did not play 8X12, but it does not mean Ludwig didn't offer that on the set. I am researching this for more info. If anyone can help with definite info - it would help
