Bonham never played a 12 x 8. Started with a 14 x 12, then 14 x 10. With the Stainless kit it was a 15 x 12......FYI

I read where it was only a djembe and a banana shaker. Amazing tones out of those. Respect!

Led Zeppelin's first album was recorded using Slingerland drums.....and that's not a rumor, it's fact. Sorry for hijacking the thread....

If it's a fact, then where are the pictures from the sessions? The pictures of a slingerland BDP kit being played live is most likely borrowed equipment.

Actually, Bonham did play an 8 x 12.....it was part of a Ludwig Hollywood Vistalite kit he kept at his home for practice.....he just never played one live at a show....x-mas3

So officially, there is no pictures to my knowledge of their equipment while recording their first album. However, there is a post on another drum forum started by the person who founded the forum, in which he discusses his conversation with Jason Bonham, and the subsequent discussion of his father and his drum choices. I would wager that his son knows of what he's saying about his own father, as well as the discussion that Robert Plant has said drum kit....

Ludwig-dude, you are correct sir......As far as I know with Bonham kits, Ludwig when offering the kits, the tom sizes above which I stated were used. Secondly,I have a natural maple "Bonham kit" that I purchased about 5 years ago that is listed in the Ludwig catalog as a "Zep set" , sizes being 26 x 14, 14 x 12, 16 x 16, 18 x 16, so I was just putting in my two cents (adjusted for the economy to one)

So, these toms are for sale...getting back to the point...are these toms from one of Bonham's kits? Seriously? That's pretty cool if they are.

...'cause you know...it's June 1st.....April 1st has already come and gone.
