So officially, there is no pictures to my knowledge of their equipment while recording their first album. However, there is a post on another drum forum started by the person who founded the forum, in which he discusses his conversation with Jason Bonham, and the subsequent discussion of his father and his drum choices. I would wager that his son knows of what he's saying about his own father, as well as the discussion that Robert Plant has said drum kit....Ludwig-dude, you are correct sir......As far as I know with Bonham kits, Ludwig when offering the kits, the tom sizes above which I stated were used. Secondly,I have a natural maple "Bonham kit" that I purchased about 5 years ago that is listed in the Ludwig catalog as a "Zep set" , sizes being 26 x 14, 14 x 12, 16 x 16, 18 x 16, so I was just putting in my two cents (adjusted for the economy to one)
Small rack tom was either 10x14 or 12x15 NOT 12x14

Ludwig-dude. do your homework. His "small" rack tom on his thermo-gloss maple kit is a 12x14 tenor drum. I believe they are offering the same size in the new Zep kits but they are of course, not 3 ply
GiantBeater....do YOUR homework! The thermo-gloss maple kit was originally a double bass kit, an exact duplicate of Carmine Appice's kit from 1968 when he played with Vanilla Fudge. Zeppelin opened for them and Bonham was so impressed with Carmine and his kit that he wanted one exactly like it. Sizes were: 12x15, 2-14x26, 6 1/2x14 supraphonic, and 16x18 floor tom. Later the rest of Zeppelin told Bonzo two bass drums was too much, so he took it away and added the 16x16 floor tom. Ludwig never made a 12x14 rack tom or marching tenor for that matter. The sizes they offered were 10x14 or 12x15. Since Carmine has documented many times over the years what that kit was as far as specs go, I'm inclined to believe him. Big rack tom was 12x15. Just look at the pics.......definately 12x15.
Later on the green sparkle kit had a smaller rack tom-10x14, as did the amber vistalite kit. With the stainless steel kit he reverted BACK to a 12x15.
The new USA made Zep kits are 10x14, with the exception being the reissue stainless steel kits, which has the 12x15 tom. Accent Zep kits have a 9x13, so its not a true Zep kit.......

Most probably not........its just probably one of the "ebay" hooks people try to use......14x22 ludwig bonham......16x26 bass drum....bonham....5x14 supraphonic, bonham.....that one was my fav, since bonham usually used a 6 1/2x14.....

All the wood and Stainless kits were either Ludwig weathermaster heavy coated for both heads, or Remo coated emperor for batter, ambassador for reso. The vistalite kit he used Remo black dots for batters and clear ambassadors for the resos.......I don't believe Ludwig silver dots were available yet, so the remo black dots were used instead.
