Hi Everyone. New to the site : Tama Imperialstar

Newbie here. Wanted to introduce myself and share a couple pics of my Imperialstar kit.

Replace all the heads with Evans Hydrolics. Sound Great! Few new cymbals... Think I finally have it where I want it.

I agree. Fun. What types of music or tunes do you play? has that ever been gigged? I'd love to see that in action.

Welcome and,, Rock n Roll dude! Very cool set up! The first drum set I refinished was a Ludwig Rocker and I had about the same set up. You have two more toms than mine. Looks good!

Thank you!

Those late 70's early 80's Imperialstars are great drums.Played by Stewart Copeland and Liberty DeVitto.Lib even had a kit,the same wrap as yours.Welcome to the forum.

Thanks. I play anything and everything i can and constantly try to improve my skill set. I was very comfortable when i was younger, but took years off for kids and life. It's all still in my head, just trying to reestablish the translation to my limbs.

It's never been taken out of the house.

Thinking about putting evans black hydraulic heads on it. Would love to set some EC2's on it, but they don't exist for the 20" Tom. Anyone try the black hydraulic heads on concert Tom's?

HOLY GUACAMOLE!

If I was driving a kit like that... it'd break me. I'd be wondering what drum to hit next!

Should I thump the the big one? No, wait! This one sounds nice. But here, in this tune, this one would sound better... maybe.

And by the time I'd figured out which one I wanted to aim at, the song would be over.

Yeah, it might be much, but tons of fun. I plan to add some octobans and and several cymbals in the next few months. One of these days I would like to re wrap it but it would cost a small fortune. Might be a crime to re wrap a vintage set as well?
