Thanks. I've always loved how they sound. I'm going to try my hand at building my own. I'll post pics when I get them finished. I'm at the ordering hardware part now.

Yowsa! That kit is in great shape! I was going to ask where the Octabons were since you seem to already have the mounts for them, but toil ready answered that. I'll look forward to seeing your custom build on those.

As to re-wrapping, they look pretty great so I would leave them as is. That's only my opinion of course.

If you like the EC2 heads then consider putting them on the concert toms and do something different with the floor toms. The floors will be different from a tonal standpoint anyway. It might change the way to approach the kit playing wise as well.

I see exercise equipment in that room. Seems kind of redundant when you have that monster to contend with!

Welcome to the forum!!

Seems to me G2's with a little moongel would be very close to the EC2. For both floor toms. Those drums are like a slice of history-please don't recover them...It would be like repainting a 1980 Firebird with the bird on the hood- now its just a car...

You know, you're probably right. Down the road I would probably regret it. Not a big fan of the color but in all honesty they are in very good shape and changing the color is all I would really be accomplishing.

Hy Wess

welcome to the VDF! It´s a cool place here for Vintage Drumfreaks;-)

By the way, good desicion not to rewrap them:-) i personaly like the color and the huge kit, but i don`t want this monster to set up every second week for a gig:-)

I have the smaller version of a Imperialstar!;-)

Christian

Yeah, don't. You will regret it in a few years. Besides, those look great to me!
