Boy, I got lucky here I think. Saw these on Ebay for 9.99 each. Vics drum shop in Chicago, only had a rating of 19 so I was concerned. Did a little search and found their website, looked like a legitimate shop. Gave them a call just ask a few questions. They dont normally deal in vintage drum parts, just came across these by accident somehow. So I place an order Monday morning, UPS man just handed them to me.

I have also had some members contact me and help me out tremendously, I will post who they are when I get the parts. Man there are some good people on this forum!

Nice Jeff glad the parts hunt is going well. I think pluggin the extra holes is a good idea. Either some vintage wrap or the glitter I've seen a few people use also seems to work very well? Do you still need a tom mount? I'll head over to Dans house this weekend and check it out if so. It's the ball and socket style. Seeing all these Camco kits recently has sparked some old memory banks here. When I had my Slingerland kit I bought it new at a drum shop in NYC I wanted Rogers swivo hardware. They didn't carry it but had Camco and others. I "think" I had them put a Camco tom mount on the kit vs the SOM. I can't remember for sure (was in the 70's) but that bass mount looks so familier. I know I had one at one point just can't remember where. Maybe one day I'll remember. Ha~! Keep up the good work!! Oh and don't keep a total of what you spend on the parts!!! You'll feel better not knowing. :)

Ah, yes I would be interested in a tom mount, that way it would cover up a hole or two. I know nothing about camco hardware but the type of tom mount that is on the 12" tom is the type that would hang off of a L rod Like Ludwigs do. So I would like to have a tom post that incorporates an L rod, does that make sense? Im still foggy on what the original one looked like, I know people are trying to help me but I just dont get it yet, Im a little slow! Soon will have the muffler for the 14, I already have the lugs, so that drum will be done except for the incorrect bottom hoop. These babies are really looking nice so far!

The bass drum holes are a mystery - I have seen that "floor tom leg bracket as rack tom mount bracket" for a bullhorn mount on precisely one other Camco drum (and I follow this stuff really closely). That's how rare it is. I wish I could find a picture of that kit but, from memory, the mount on the bass drum was a Ludwig square (or diamond) plate.

I know the smaller holes were made by the DIY mount....but what the hell were the other two bigger holes for. Closest mount I can imagine to the four holes is a Slingerland Swivomatic but I'm not that familiar with them so it's pure conjecture.

Thank you friends. So where and what sparkle wrap would work for this? My wrap is discolored so brand new silver sparkle wrap would not match. Would it be stupid to steal some from under a lug on my kit?

I know, the holes are just weird.

In order to get a -perfect- match, stealing tiny dots of wrap from under the lugs is THE WAY to go! What I do is, use a plug-cutting bit to cut out tiny circles of wrap from under lugs. Then I glue the wrap dot to the end of a maple dowel (that is the same diameter as the hole I'm trying to fill) then I'll add glue and insert the dowel from behind until it is flush with the surface. Cut away excess dowel from the back, sand flush and move on to the next hole.

Use a very tiny amount of seam filler on your finger-tip to make the edge of the plug disappear. No one will be able to see the repair unless they get up close and personal with the drum. This method works really well for me. Repairs/plugs blend right in.
