Another project in the works

They reminded me of Sonor drums, too. I think the final look will be sort of Scandinavian...Ikea drums. Sophisticated, at home set up in a Swedish mansion with a cello and a grand piano. Pretty nice...

Thanks guys! Actually, I spent a lot of time looking at the new drums from Ludwig, DW and Pearl to get ideas. The DW site was the best, they have some of the coolest finishes and exotic wood's. The zebra wood is beautiful up close but from ten feet it looks very busy or something. I'm sure I will get used to it, if not I will sell it and start over. Right now I am trying to decide if I want the finish satin or gloss. I shot some satin on the snare shell tonight, wife says it should be gloss, she's probably right. The hardware will greatly effect the look as well.

Thank you!

Jeff, Look up some Zebrawood stave drums. They will give you the best vision of what yours will become….

Well, ended up with gloss top coat. Now deciding on what type of mount to get for the 13 and 14. Thinking about getting the Gibraltar suspension mounts that attach to a cymbal stand. Any comments on those would be appreciated.

With heads and the hardware on that is going to be stunning! Very unique. Wow!

Well, I thought they would look good stained, but I must admit that is a lovely finish! Nothing to add on the hanging toms question.

Thanks Glenn, I like it too. The whole zebra wood look is starting to grow on me. I think once its all set up it will look nice. What I am concerned about the most though is the sound.

Thank you!
