While I'm coming up with repair ideas for the kick drum, I'll start stripping the hoops. They are in pretty good condition, just one tiny crack under the strip that I have to glue.

I asked once before, and I didn't get a response. Is there a "standard" black paint used when refinishing these? Like the N333 Benjamin Moore paint for the interiors.
We'll, definitely a labour of love. Hard to find the time, and it sure is time consuming to do it right. Lacquered the rims, after removing paint and a light sand.
Started on the interiors of the toms. One coat may do it, it looks more original.
For the bottoms.
Hoops look great, so do the interiors of the tom. I'm in the same process here.
Thank you!

I will be posting pics soon of my club dates that I recently found a floor tom for. I started the thread "The day has come". I just refinished the bass drum hoops for that kit. I have another Ludwig 60's kit that I will be painting the interior like you did, but I am doing a veneer on the exterior of those shells.
Thank you!

I saw. That is a SWEET kit. I'm getting addicted. This is my first vintage kit.
For the tops.
