Thank you all for your input, yes it does have a art deco flavor to it. Ive looked all over the web and I cant find many of these kits... Cymbals are tarnished but ok the 2 rides have minor keyholeing but very tarnished... What should I expect to get ?? I know is not pristine by far.. Would you take the trip it is 2-3 hour drive for me...any shot at 2K at all ?
1963 Premier 54 outfit Aquamarine sparkle Drum show in Chi Town, To go or not to go
Yes I know one side about 1/3 is bad floor tom is noticeable fad too. I am in the process of wiping them down and cleaning them up. Would make a great restoration project but indeed no one wants to spend major bucks then refurbish unless it is a USA kit as I said I am a amp tech I restore vintage amps drums are not my thing thats why I came here.. I will try to weight the cymbals but have no good way to do it (bathroom scale) lol I am a realist....I think the best thing to do would be to go see what I can fetch for it in Chi town but my sister wants 2k or more ?? I need to talk to her and see if she will be responsive to 1500 or less?? Who knows in Chicago ? its a crap shoot lots of money floating around someone could be foolish or smart or just want to spend some cash. My sister is paying my way so I think I'll finish cleaning it up an spend the day in drum heaven.... If she still wants me to take it.. Thanks guys alot
Doubt you will get $1.500 for them...snare usually only goes to MAYBE $350...closer to $250-300...
3 other drums faded.....$400-500-600?
I have a 20,12,14 Prem kit..circa 1965...wrap removed..and I am asking $400...with some brand new heads..rest pretty decent...
a guy tried beating me down to $350 the other nite!
maybe one day in the future these Prem kits will get more love but right now they just don't get the love they deserve. Even in England, their home, they are cheap to buy (check ebay.co.uk) - they want American kits too. I have a '72 Premier 202 kit and it is my favorite sounding kit. Even here in New Zealand where it's hard to get quality vintage drums, my Prem kit, in nice shape, cost me around $US380. A similar Ludwig would make $2k.
There aren't too many on here that have played Premier that don't sing their praises. They have a look all of their own and a pretty good one at that. So one day maybe...
15K? $15,000? No way. You're deluding yourself thinking you will get that kind of money. "A local drum pro claimed that this kit could bring 15K", he's off his medication. $800 tops, with all the cymbals and hardware thrown in. There are hundreds of these kits around all in various stages of conditions, I own one in the Aqua as well, it has similar fading issues but otherwise in great condition. I was offered $600 for mine, which I refused because it's not for sale. Dragging the kit to Chicago and expecting someone to buy it, cash in hand is unlikely, you'd be wasting your time.
Over here in Western Europe not many collectors and players seem to be very interested in them. Everybody seems to be after the American stuff,... Ludwig on top,...
It's a true shame as these Premiers are very well crafted and great sounding drums.
Your Aqua Marine set in that condition all included would go for €500-700 on a good day.
About a year ago I picked up this stunning early 60's beauty for €850. More or less a realistic price considering its size and condition.

my god that's a beautiful kit Stedi
Nice kit. Unfortunately, the only Premier kit that would fetch close to $15k is Ringo's Premier Mahogany Duroplastic. But the non-original Rogers tom mount would really deduct from the value. ;)
Good luck with the sale of your kit.

Thanks you all Thats what I needed to know... I think I should stay home, now that it is all cleaned up put them back in there cases and back into the storage room. Maybe keep my eyes open for a period correct kick pedal and cow bell, they do come up on Ebay UK as I have checked and passed a few of them over the years....and no I was not expecting 15K but really was told that, I dont know the drum market, I do know though that rich people will spend crazy money should they feel the whim, and was leaning towards going and throwing it out there and seeing what could happen cause who really knows, Ive seen crazier stuff rich people think like ........ rich people...... Thanks you all..... Thornbeck are you saying that the mount on this kit is a Rodgers ? or that Ringos was ? sorry for stooooopid question like I said I not a drum guy
Well just a few shots after cleanup, time to pack it up again. Just wanted to share seeing how I spent a few hours giving them a good wipe up.
