(They also donated concert instruments as well.) After reading this marching drum thread, I used to play snare for the

local drum & baton groups that were big in the 1960's. In the town of

3,000 people where I grew up, we had two of these groups. The American

Legion and the local Eagles clubs both sponsored them. I was in the Legion

group when I was 7-8 years old. Doubt if there's many of these groups

around today. I saw one in a local parade that had music played over a P A

system in front of the baton group. Next question: How many of you guys

participated in such an organization as kids?? Loved the Rogers snares

shown. I'm still working on buying some 14 x 10 early 60's Yorktowns.

I have been wanting to assemble a marching snare drum set for almost a decade. Only recently have I been able to afford to do it. Originally I wanted a large bass drum, but there isn't enough room in my home for that. So, I put together a micro kit. More pictures on the way.

13x8 1930s Leedy (possibly a Ludwig). It came to me painted red and white, so refinished it and made some decals.

14x10 1930s Slingerland. Got it from Etsy. Had to be refinished due to sloppy revarnishing. It didn't come with an eagle decal, so I applied one.

16x10 1930s Slingerland. Original paint on hoops and shell in excellent condition, some crazing.

Thanks, Mike. I managed to snag some trans stamps for a very good price. All very thin to paperthin. 14" hats, 16", 22" @ 2234 grams. They sound even better than they look.

oh...congrats! youre kiiling me on that last one. ive got nearly 40 old a's. i was telling a buddy of mine just tonight...about all i'm looking for is a 50's avedis 22 around 2200 grams and rivets would be nice...Cool1
