Nah - but I keep predicting they will be the next big thing (however I seem to be pretty much alone in this view).
are you talking about the comboII kits?
I know alot of people think the ludwig and rogers butcher block and koa wraps are ugly... thats why theyre rare. rarity and not hype should determine a drums real value.
Im sick of seeing over priced supras though.
My favorite kit is a Ludwig 3 ply 13/16/20 in the Butcher Block cortex finish. I think it's underrated.

I agree. I think that the cortex wraps are some of the most practical of them all -because they are very, VERY durable....I mean VERY durable. They are, after all, formulated for counter-top applications! As far as the look....well, I love Ludwig black cortex because it has a dull kind of sheen that looks more like a piano black as opposed to a glossy black. The butcher block isn't my favorite look, but it is a rare finish and I tend to agree that the rare items will likely be valuable at some point in time.
Everything new is old again!
:D
I've always loved the butcher block kits but was informed that the re-sale value of kits with this finish was EXTREMELY minimal, since most "players" hated it and most "collectors" had no interest in it.
Must be showing my age here, but I think this finish presents an extremely "clean" appearance.
I'm watching these for quite some time...900€ incl. shipping to me, but i just can't make me push the button DOH
But I am wonder if those drums in butcher block finish ( Rogers have some too) will not be very colectible in the future?
They was not made in a many years. And they did not sell so well. And lot of them, witch was sold anyway, are today re-coverd or over-painted. I never see after market wrap, Butcher Block either.
And all thats together thats make them rare. It´s not often I see butchers block for sale...
So, maybe thats new Citrus Mod???
I have an unusual 1970 Ludwig Butcher Block kit with 3 ply clear interiors, B/O pointy badges and no serial numbers. Sizes are 24", 18", 16", 13, and 13". The drums are in very nice shape and have virtually no marks anywhere. The finish is like new, not bad for a 40 year drum kit! Great classic Ludwig sound!
