Pearl Acrylics info needed

Loading...

Hi everyone, Welcome what a great site!! shame I cant find one this good in the UK!!

Ok, I need a little info if possible and Im sure it will be dead easy to those in the know -

I started drumming when I was 14 (Im 42 now!) and I saved every penny I had to buy my (Rich) mates kit which was made by Pearl ( I think it was the same kit that Phill Collins used on in the air tonight, anyway 20 odd years on I have managed to get nearly the same kit back (Im so happy!!!!!) however there are some things missing which I would love if you could fill in the blanks for me

Firstly the proper name for this kit, the bass drums are named Pearl Wood Fibre Glass, the toms are all fibre glass, the kit I would say is a champagne colour shiney, all the toms are power toms in fibreglass but the floor tom is double headed and wooden. this is the kit as I got it -

Im sorry if the picture didnt show up :( I have no idea hat I did wrong :)

I hoping to get the proper name for the kit so that I can try and get the toms that are missing which looks to be 6, 8 & 10 OR if you have any of these missing bits I would love to hear from you

If anyone can help with this I would very happy indeed

Hit the respond button then scroll down and click " manage Attachments" Click the browse button on top to find your picture, if its on your computer. You might have to re-size it. If so it can be easily done in Paint. I would like to see your drums. I have a President kit with those fiber shells.

Glad to help with the pictures. I wish I could tell you what your drums are but I am no expert by any means. Someone will know. I like the finish/color of them, very nice drum set!

Here is shot of my Presidents. They have a dark brown fiber/composite shell. I have heard the correct name for them but cant remember it. Yours are solid fiberglass?

this is what was bought complete with the kit - As you can see I have a few extras which dont belong to the kit which I was going to spray and use, but I would prefer if I could get the original 6" 8" & 10" to finish the kit off, so any help in this department would be fantastic, or any leads even :)

Also the proper name for the kit so that when Im asking, people will know the kit straight away, also the colour, would it be classed as chrome?

JC That is indeed a beautiful kit and looks totally original

The toms are fibreglass but the floor tom and bass drums are wood-fibreglass, I think thats the way the whole kit was sold, my original kit have the Rogers big R Chrome bass drums and a full set of Paiste 2002 hats and cymbals, If I only knew than what I know now!!!!!!!!!

Wow! -That is quite a kit. However, they are not acrylic. -And furthermore, they are not an original kit. Your drums is a mix from several kits. What you describe as power toms are normally called "Concert Toms" (power toms usually is what you call extra deep toms).-they have only one head and unfortunatly, they are considered less valuable. In the 70's Pearls cheepest drums were the wooden ones (like your floor tom). The ones called Wood/fiberglass were intermediate and the expensive ones were made from fiberglass only and had a sticker reading "Fiberglass shells" on them. Your drums are probably from the 70's, and I bet they sound sweet :) but, as they are a mix from several kits they are by no meens considered valuable drums.

-Apart from that you probably value them highly. -I would ;)

Welcome !

Sorry to contradict you - but if I recall correctly, Phil played a Premier kit at that time?!

Conc. your Pearl kit I'm afraid I can't be of help, as I'm not a 'Pearl's man'.
