Bill, Lynn thanks very much. It's been a fun project.

Bill, that's a pretty interesting offer thanks. I need to recoupe a bit but yes please let me know what you need to get for it. Maybe I can make it happen. I do have a old RK 13" tom I was thinking about maybe adding it if I can find a piece of wrap for it. It's a bare shell as it sits. Another bass drum would be cool. Hmmmmm.....LOL. Everyday the wife comes home and sees something new here. Very addictive hobby this is.

That's for the kind words guys. It has been a really fun project and I learned quite a bit during the process. They sound GREAT. And I've been having a blast playing them. I bought a nice COB Slingy snare to complete the drum kit. After I save up some cash I'll start on looking for some nice Zild A cymbals.

Just an update on this. One of my haunts with this kit was the inner shell of the bass drum spray painted flat black. Luckily it was done neatly without drips or a big mess. So I decided to tackle this job over the last few days. First was to remove the lugs and hardware and mask off the holes, edges and cover the ourside wrap with paper. Problem #1 was to match the chocolate milk interiors. The rest of my shells had a very sparse coat and the P stamps were visible through the paint. Either that or it's just faded over time. But with the bass interior black I knew I had to do a pretty good covering. Forum member Billnvick, Bill had shared a color he found very close to the original. As I understand the original color varied a bit in shade and density. But in my case it was a beautiful match. Bill did his shells with Krylon "Pebble" in satin finish. I picked up a can and used the same color. I'm VERY pleased with the results. As I started I soon thought no way 1 can will cover this black. But after 30 min I had just enough to finish the shell. A BIG thanks to Bill for sharing this info!! I was really undecided what color to use. And reluctant to tackle this job as a result. I also decided to take advantage of the exsisting black paint in one way. I replicated the "P" stamp out of blue painters tape and stuck it on the inside of the shell before the pebble color went on. This was really for my own amusement. SlingerLynn, Lynn has posted a very timely picture of his shell stamp last night. Just as I happen to be looking for a picture. I saved his pic and traced it off my monitor. Then made it out of blue tape and stuck it on the inside of the shell. If it looks like doo doo I'll just paint over it. LOL. The paint is still drying so I haven't peeled it off yet. But I was curious to try it anyway. Next was stripping the black paint off the mounting hardware, screws, washers and nuts. Moosenbocks Grafitti remover made that job and snap. So those are back to metal color. The last thing I need to do before it all goes back together is shorten some of the lug screws. They must have been for the later thicker shells is my guess. As the hardware for the kit came in bags labeled. As a temp fix I just added 3 washers to each screw. So tomorrow afternoon I'll spend some time with the dremel cutoff wheel and shorten 20 screws. LOL fun times!!! I'll get some pics up asap of this adventure. I'm already thinking over my next project. As this one will be pretty complete now. Happy Drumming!
