Help needed with identification

Hi!

I have my snare posted for identification also on this forum. It seems to be an old German piece.

I also have a tom and bassdrum. Not with the same finish as the snare, but i think that these are also German (east German?).

Can anyone help me identificate these? Please don't be fooled by the Gretsch decal on the bassdrum. Some brands that might be possible: Trixon, Tromsa, Trowa, Roxy???

The tom is 10"and the bassdrum 22". Very strange is that the silencer is not on the side where you kick the pedal against the drumhead, but on the other side!!! I didn't clean it yet...this is how i got it.

If you need specific pictures...please let me know. There's no logo or brand anywhere on it and it looks like it's from the fifties but i'm not sure.

dunno but that cymbals pretty cool, thats some bell on that thing, i guess it has no brand on it either.

I`ve seen that scratch wrap before, but can`t place it !! (on this site I think) The tom and Bass lugs look nickle plated, not chrome. That cymbal is cool but not as cool as that refrigerator !! (does it work)

Yeah, the fridge works but i use it as a closet. I have 3 vintage fridges and i use them all as closets. A good friend of mine put some nice pinstripes on them.

Your set is a mid 1940's to mid 1950's Roxy set ..The T-rods and claws on bass drum,the tom mount and the wing nuts on the mounts and the finish all point to Roxy..Roxy drums are made in Germany..I can not recall the finish but years ago i have a bass drum in the same finish but is was black with silver lines....Mikey

Thank you all for your help!

The set was identified by a German classic drum expert, who really knows everything of classic German drums.

The bass and tom are definately from DERI. I expected Trowa, Tromsa, Trixon or maybe Roxy, but i really never heard of Deri. I also found a vintage catalogue on the www and the rare finish is also mentioned there.

But i must admit that all the german drums from that period look very very similar. It seems that they are all kinda "family" because they used eachothers parts...

Hi Roy.

These drums are made by 'Tromsa' --- Roxy and Deri brands are the Tromsa export trademarks.

Really cool kit.
