I'm sorry I didn't get back to this sooner, but for daddynowhere, I looked at several 60s Star catalogs and found all these parts here and there in the Star lineup. The turnbuckle floor tom leg receivers with their straight legs and bizzarro washer-thin eye-bolts and standard Star wingnuts. That tom mount, bass plate and tom plate, the strainer and mufflers etc. are all found in the Star catalogues. Even the cymbal arm receiver block is stock Star parts.

The 3-ply shells are also a match for my US Mercury Star set (now sold).

EDIT : Oops. Upon closer inspection, I am not finding them in the Star cats after all. I saw them googling Zim Gar. Mystery unsolved!

I have NEVER heard Teisco mentioned in the mix of MIJ manufacturers. Pearl,Star, Hoshino and Gracy, that was it. Also, the Star manufacture is not obvious to me,as I thought Star "Slingy" lugs were small and Pearl were larger, more like these. The tom mount could be had on both brands. Pull the FT leg mount and see if it says Pearl inside the casting.

There are no FT legs mount castings, it's just flat sheet metal with four opposing 90 degree bends and a three holes, two at the edges for mounting and a larger one in the center for the eye-bolt to pass through. Thicker legs with no bends.

Here's some pics. To me this stuff all looks like hand-me-downs from the Star line.

I think the quickest tell is the wing nuts. The tom mount uses the same thickness rod as the straight FT legs, both thicker than usual MIJ.

...and so on. Those eyebolts are particularly distinctive.

However, now looking through the Star cats listed on the Tama site I am doubting my earlier certainty. I am now only pretty sure that they aren't Pearl. I dunno, anybody recognize these parts?

Rogers style muffler. No maker's marks on the cymbal arm casting, totally blank inside.

To me everthing points to early Hoshino! But i could be wrong! Are there 3 re-rings in the bassdrum?

Cool kit by the way!

My grandfather's "Tele-Star" floor tom had those same leg brackets. It was medium blue sparkle center lug with 1/4-20 rods and what I remember as Hoshino lugs. Same lugs as that snare.

Ooh! Now we're getting somewhere. Yes, the bass has a rather large center ring that aligns with the tom mount block and reinforces the stress point. It's double the width of the outer rings.
