egu: Sorry for the spelling. No arguements from me except I would suspect any experienced collector would not pay an obscene amount of money to rescue a drum set( a fair price yes, or unless its an extremely rare kit ).Most people on this site fit the above statement. Maybe I,am wrong but I think after the collector passed on not buying the set someone that doesn't know what he is doing MAY become the "end buyer" and ruin the set. Maybe I,am the one with the convoluted thinking. I agree with your quote " taking advantage of others ignorance " and thats exactly what we are talking about here. I,ve seen it happen many times and despise the tactic.

Another point that has not been made yet on this rollercoaster of a ride is that to me, it is utterly inexcuseable for anyone to be uninformed on anything anymore. We are in the computer age now. Five year old kids know how to google. Two minutes and about ten key strokes can make the most naive of the naive somewhat in the know. If the seller chooses to sell something that is clearly worth more than a can of beans without doing one shred of investigating to find it's worth, who's fault is that?

True story. I put vinyl siding on my garage after reading a couple articles on the good ol' computer. Never done it before that and it looks pretty good IMO.

Heck, I even take some drum lessons online from those free sites that teach the rudiments!!

I can already see it coming, the "He/she doesn't have a computer" spiel. To quote a very sage individual, that is bunk. My old man called a freaking calculator a computer, didn't have cable TV and all of the tail gates on his trucks were usually held on with a ratchet strap!! He was selling a Gravely tractor with a bunch of attachments. I went home, spent about twenty minutes on the laptop, and gave him an idea of what they were selling for. EVERYONE knows someone with a computer. Mr. Bill Gates was kind enough to see to it that about every library in the world has a computer for Pete's sake.

Uninformed, naive, clueless, etc. Who's fault is that? Laziness should not be rewarded with extra profits from a sale. The guy who puts the work in to ensure he is maxxing profits should reap the rewards. Bottom line.

have a wonderful evening

You know, for someone who read the freekin' thread, you sure enough got into the weeds on this one. My posts have been only about one. This thread (and all of my posts here) has been focused upon one type of individual - the shark who actively patrols the waters looking for someone to take advantage. Reread the original thread starter. I never deviated. THAT'S who I'm referring. All this other treacle is moot. You could come up with one hundred other scenarios and find different ways to look at them. But this thread was about only one.If you disagree with my ethical stance or my moral values, so be it. It's not my place to judge you or your place to judge me. We be different. As I stated in a previous post, where we set that bar or draw that line determines and defines our character. Good Bad Right Wrong or Indifferent. It is what it is. If you choose to actively take advantage of someone, that's just who you are. If I view someone actively taking advantage of someone and feel it's wrong, that's who I am. I draw my own line. You draw yours. I cannot question your line. But, I can certainly disaprove of it. And, I can monitor your actions and not do business with you. That's called fiscal responsibility. You won't pick a fight here.

My bad!! I thought some of the comments you made referred to a couple of my posts...Not trying to start a feud, just throwing out some sarcasm. It's hard to see the tongue actually in the cheek on these forums.

As for being in the weeds; I spent most of my life there so I'm used to it:)
