Oh man thats sad.
I really enjoyed following this link like some old movie. And the main character died in the end.
I agree this is sad, but come on....what do you expect the guy to do? Take $500 for the whole kit when the bass drum is worth close to that alone? Its a pretty rough spot to be in if you want to get rid of something and you really need the money.
Now, if its just for greed's sake after acquiring it for next to nothing...thats another story I guess, but still....should he just hold on to it to keep it together if he has no use for it?
Its a tough one but I see both sides. Maybe give the guy a bit of a break and buy the pieces and keep it together if its that big of a deal to you? I dont know....just thought Id chime in on this. Obviously my opinion has no bearing on the situation.

Here's the simple way it really is. first off I'll never ever post to any of these type threads of Look what I got and how much I paid for it. It is a poison snake that will bite you back,
It Isn't anyone's business how much you paid or didn't pay for any Item.
Why is it that one person gets a heck of a deal, and then tries to sale it for a profit small or large.
Man this Is still the United States of America,
The guy found the deal he was at the right time at the right moment get over it, it's just the way things roll.
He tried to sale the kit as a whole and got no or low ball offers, the bass drum will go to someone who either already has a kit with a larger bass drum or is piecing one together.
The guy has tried to sale it through different avenues to no avail so now it's on ebay! I hope he gets top money out of it! simply nothing wrong with it! ok! rant over!Group Hug
The three toms would make a great little jazz kit using the FT as a bass drum on a riser. I wonder if that's what the buyer plans to do.
The bass drum has now been re-listed.

VM2K: Love ya man, but you gotta start throwing some periods in those rants! Having a hard time understanding you with all those commas! LoLoLoLoCar Driving2Laughing H
Anyway...I totally hear ya. Its super Lame to come on here and brag about your "steals", get a free "appraisal" and then try to turn around and use every avenue possible to make as much money as possible off of something. At the same time...people will be people. Maybe he really needs the money or something.
Just trying to see the bright side! Kiss

Tisk Tisk, how sad to split up such a delictable kit. The find gives us all hope that the next yard sale we see will have the vintage jazzette kit that has eluded the world for many decades. The kit that some old man had stored in the attick and is in the estate sale as a old set of drums for $50. That kit with all the zildjian cymbals and original stands....
