I just finished a snare. 5 ply (started out as a marching drum) cut it down to 6 1/2 inches, wrapped it with cherry veneer clear coated and buffed so you can see yourself, turned out beautiful. 12 lug (repros) 2.3 rims (not Slingys), and rapid strainer and butt. Plugged the three air vents (they're towards the top) and drilled four new vents.Not original but sounds and looks great. Have more shells to do the same to but I'm waiting on some T.D.R. butts from Mikey
