I agree with the way you fixed the gap in the ring, good call! As far as the residue on the edge I don't know what it is either, so another good call by not worrying about it.

I got her all back together today. I did not paint the inside. I did replace the screws on the butt plate and strainer. I replaced the dampener with a matching one. Not all of the tension rods match which is how I got it. A new Emperor X on top and ambassador snare on the bottom. I do need to get snare wires on this ol girl to hear her! I will post it in the for sale section here and my local CL once she is complete. If any interest please contact me ASAP. I need the cash.
