I play two rides over the two floor toms to my right ones a 20" the other is a 22" or 24" all are Zild's from the 60's all heavy..This is my set up whrn iam playing a single bass drum set up..But when it comes to a double bass set up i used four rides 2 on the right and two to the left..same sizes on both sides..But on the other hand i also have some 17'',18", and 19" crashes/ ride cymbals around the set..So maybe a total of 5 rides on the single set up and 7 on a double set up.Mikey

I am starting to evolve my playing again, and now my drum voice needs more ride cymbals.

Is your wedding kit one you play at weddings? Or is the name an inside joke?
I like to have a very pingy ride sound and a very washy ride sound, and because you can't find this in a single cymbal, I use two :p
the second one is very crashable so that is an extra advantage :)
When I play blues, I "ride" a lot. And the people I play with always like the switch from pingy to washy :p gives a song much more "emotion"

That's what I'm finding!!! I'm trying out for a blues band Saturday night. So I am on the right track. I found that washy works better for some of the older numbers (like "Respect" by Aretha Franklin). Pingy works for some other numbers, in particular the modern blues numbers.

Used to use 2 (late 70's Z Rock 21 & Z 22") in a prog band. Both over my ft. Just the Rock 21, these days. However, I have a late 70's 20" 505 crash that has a nice washy ride sound, over my one ride tom.

If you want to stay in the Paiste family for your 2K2 set up, Musician's Friend has a Dark Metal Ride with some cosmetic issues for around 2 bills. It's almost identical to the Stewart Copeland Blue Bell ride except that it isn't blue. That would give your Z Custom a run for it's money in volume. I had one of those Z Custom rides, and it was the hammering that helped lure me away from Paistes.
