You are right on that, if you are thinking Premier or B&H but the older Beverley shells ( the ones made at Beverley, before 1959) have a similar profile to this as do some older John Grey shells I have seen. The real point I was making was related to the seam. Most of the older German shells were butt seamed and then patched. Deri wasn't. It was bevelled and then overlapped at the seam, as were most of the English shells.

there actually normal iron rods, there is, and i think - there never were chrom on it.
