Hy guys !
I bought this Drum on ebay for about 20 Euro! Can somebody tell me wich brand it is and maybe wich year. I don´t have a clou:-)
regards
Not sure who used the "Lochness Monster BD Lugs".
They sure look cool.
Not MIJ - looks like a decent quality, vintage drum. All hardware present? New one on me, but I'd say it was a nice score, though I'd venture that finding matching orphans could be a Herculean task... What diameter?
Diameter is 26" , i also think it`s some marching stuff:-)
I bought it, because i want to build a Kit with it;-) well see how it turns out!
I am only interested if somebody would know anything!!!Help2
I, too, think it's from a company specialized in marching drums equipment.
You should ask this guy:

Fritz knows a bunch on old European drum companies.

Hard to believe this is not a John Grey drum. From what looks like a Birch shell, in the English style, to the bow-tie T-rods, and the long double ended lugs with the turtle heads, it says John Grey. What doesn't say John Grey is the cast aluminum lugs with no plating and the cast aluminum claws. Those aspects of the drum say German, mostly Deri. I have seen one other drum like this that seemed to be a Premier-Tromsa hybrid. In that case it is badged " Wiley". The shell , and lugs say Premier but it has a Tromsa throwoff, butt end and hoops. I will post on it next week. Perhaps there were some collaborations?
One of the eastern European drum companies made drums with "snail" lug copies-maybe Amati. Maybe Russian, too.
Do you know , if these lugs are actually unchromed cast aluminum? It looks like it but maybe the chrome is just dirty or worn off?
The shell - or rather the reinforcement rings - doesn´t look british to me, being too shallow.
Some German job?
Jon
